This program provides emergency preparedness and life-safety public services to childcare providers, delivered in coordination with the awarding jurisdiction and consistent with CDBG Public Services eligibility requirements.



1. Assessment
The jurisdiction assess eligible childcare provider needs and equipment.
2. Equipment Procurement
Healthy Starts procures necessary life-safety equipment, and ensures items arrive.
2. Provider Training
Healthy Starts coordinates certified, instructor-led training that includes CPR, AED use, and bleeding control.
3. Equipment Placement & Guidance
Healthy Starts places life-safety equipment at childcare facilities and conducts operations with providers on proper usage, storage, and initial maintenance.
